Keep life simple. How many of you can do it?
It sounds or look easy to be done, but how many of you can really do it? To be able to keep life simple mean you should feel peace and ease.
However, everybody are talking about stress and fear. Everybody are worried about surviving and their future. So where is the peace and ease?
Living in the Now
In order to keep life simple, we have to learn to live in the here and now. What are the benefits of to live in the now?
When you are to live in the now, you have no fear, worries and stress. Because all these fear, worries and stress are come from thinking too much about the future which is yet to know.
Our mind like to live in the past and future. It never like to live in the here and now. It likes to create it owns stories and judgment.
The mind is always busy thinking. It either thinking about past or future or making up it owns stories.
Our mind has made our life complicated, no more simple. So how to keep life simple when you have a busy mind?
Your life is being created by your mind whether you are conscious or unconscious. Throughout our life experience, we have created a lot of belief and condition through our mind.
And these beliefs and conditions have created our current life. We are therefore responsible for our current life situation because we are the one who has created it.
If the current life situation you don’t like it, you have to learn from the mistake you have made, accept it, and tell yourself you will not make the same mistake again and move on with your life.
However, most of the people reaction when facing their current life situation which they don’t like it, they will either complain or blaming others. They didn’t learn from their mistake.
Therefore, they always face the same unhappy life situation and got stuck there until the day they learn and realize that they are the one who have created it through their mind and make an effort to stop it and change.
How to Control our Mind
When we are able to keep life simple, there is no busy mind. We live in the NOW. We are mindful and aware of ourselves and surrounding. We give no judgment of things we hear, see and feel. We just simply listen, watch and feel.
When there is thought arise, we just simply watch it with no judgment. When there is no judgment to it, there will be no reaction to it. We become in control of our mind, instead of being control by our mind.
How to do it?
Stop identify ourselves as the mind. Because if you think you are the mind, you will think the thought is you.
The mind is just a memory storage of the thought you have created in the past and for your future. Therefore, the thought is just a memory.
Think your MIND as a computer and your THOUGHT is the memory store in your computer.
So the MIND actually is just a tool like a computer. It’s helpful and useful as a tool. YOU are not the tool. YOU are using the tool to do work for you. Therefore, you should have the control of your tool.
However, what is happening now to majority of humanity?
They become the tool because they thought that they are the tool. The tool take control of YOU. You are no more the true real soulful YOU who is hiding behind a mask now. Therefore, you have no more in control of your own life because your life is being control by your tool.
Empty Your Cup
We got to take back our own power and in control of our own life. We are not the computer. We should be the one who are using the computer, instead of the other way round.
Yes, since the very first day we are born, we are being program in this way. Therefore, it becomes so natural and normal to us.
Our education never really teach us who we really are. We become a computer and live our life as a programmed computer.
Do you call this life? Everyday struggle to survive because we are being run by our mind, our tool?
Life is beautiful if we know how to take back our power and take charge of our own life.
We have to re-learn again who we truly are. Remember, we are not our mind.
In order to re-learn, we got to empty our cup first because now our cup is full of our programmed memory. We can’t fill up any more water when the cup is full already.
How To Start a Learning
We have to be determined to let go of what we have learned in the past, those old programs, that doesn’t serve us well, before we can start to re-learn again and become a child, a student.
This is the beginning of our awakening journey.
We can start by learning more information by reading trusted articles or books on this topic.
One thing good about internet is nowadays you can find lot of information easily.
However, you must be careful too as majority of the stuffs in internet are actually bad influence. So you must be able to identify what information serve you good.

Live Simple Life
What does simple life mean? It’s not what people said it’s a boring life.
Simple life is peace, beautiful and meaningful. Simple life is not run by the ego mind. You are living your life with your truthful self, the origin of you, not the one hide behind a mask. You know what is the meaning of life.
Life start to get complicated when we think too much, allowing the mind to take charge of our life. Therefore, you are feeling lost, never be able to find a permanent true happiness no matter how much you have achieved.
Live life from the heart instead from the mind.
Have faith and trust the unknown with no fear as the universe will guide and lead you along your awakening journey. You are never alone.

They are worried about and talking a lot about mental health. This book will definitely help people with their mental health.
I love the message of living life simple. It is so easy to make simple things in life extremely complicated. However, it is very difficult to make a complicated thing in life simple. So to keep things simple, let’s focus on the simple things.

Yes, it has been foresee there will be lot of people will have mental health issue in near future if they keep living in fear during these days of pandemic.
Stress and fear can kill you and there are created by your thought. So learn to watch your thought that you are having and learn to take charge of your mind and be in control of your own life.

Things have become so complicated with the Pandemic, and in the US, the election. I have some experience around the topic of mental health.
I founded the largest mental health forums (Psych Forums) and until a few years ago, I ran one of the larger mental health sites (Mental Health Matters) as well.
I bring this up because even with that knowledge, I have forgotten to take care of my own mental health recently. Thank you for the reminder that I need to do so.
I would like to leave you (and your audience) with a book recommendation. The book is Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. I’ve read it at least once a year for the past 20 years or so. It’s really just a long list of lessons that I think everyone could use.

I think you are perfectly correct that we need to learn to live in the here and now and enjoy TODAY and not allow negative reflections in regards to the past or the future to spoil our day and happiness.
We should take each day as it comes, yet I am sure we all have the understanding that it does not mean of course that we should be irresponsible and not plan ahead.

Yes, living in the NOW doesn’t mean we should not plan ahead. You can still plan ahead but without keep thinking about your goal only and forget to enjoy the process and journey by living in the NOW.
Life get complicated and a lot of people suffer because they only focus on their goal only instead in the NOW.

Yes, in fact this book – The Energy Codes by Dr Sue Morter is the first book I read before I come across – Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by Dr. David R. Hawkins and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
Just to share with you. I have an awakening experience when I read one of the section explain about Bus Stop Conversation in this book – The Energy Codes. The negative feeling that I have about myself for years from a past incident has been release after I read it.
Because I have understand why this has to be happen and have learnt to accept it and move on with my life finally. If not, my thought was always going back to this past incident and make me feel bad.

I was excited to find this post because I am so fascinated with the mind. I find when I get up in the morning my mind is always racing and I have to sit and observe it for some time before it calms down.
There was a time I would have got caught up in the thoughts but now I can look at them which I guess is some sort of progress.
I love The Power of Now, also I have recently read The Surrender Experiment and The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer which are very much about separating the voice in your head from who you are. (He talks a lot about Krya yoga – do you have any views on that?)

Yes, staying in the NOW and learning to let go or surrender work well together hand in hand. Because most of the time we have problem quiet the mind even we have tried to stay in the NOW. So by learning to let go or surrender our mind will help us to stay in the NOW easily.
To let go or surrender is a technique. Different people might have different technique that work for them. Krya yoga focus on the pranayama (Yoga breathing techniques) and meditation.
