What Health Problems Can Stress Cause
The human body is being designed to experience stress and react to it. Stress can be positive such as a getting a job promotion or being given greater responsibilities, keeping us alert and ready to avoid danger.
Stress becomes negative when a person faces continuous challenges without relief or relaxation between challenges. As a result, the person becomes overworked and stress-related tension builds.
Stree can lead to physical symptoms including headaches, upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain and problems with sleep. Research suggests that stress also can bring on or worsen certain symptoms or diseases.
Stress also becomes harmful when people use alcohol, tobacco, or drugs to try to relieve their stress. Unfortunately, instead of relieving the stress and returning the body to a relaxation state, these substances tend to keep the body in a stressed state and cause more problems.
Stress can affect all aspects of our life, including our emotions, behaviors, thinking ability, and physical health. No part of the body is immune. But, because people handle stress differently, symptoms of stress can vary.

My Story On How I Start My Yoga Journey
I have been working in the accounting line for 11 years since 1992. In year 2002 especially, I have been feeling very stressed in my work. Therefore, I have decided to enroll for a Yoga course because I had heard about Yoga being able to help release stress.
From the moment I started with this course, I have been repeatedly signing up for the same Yoga course for each and every 12 week cycle. I have never skipped any of the classes unnecessarily. In fact, every week I find myself looking forward to the classes, and never tire of the experience. I love and enjoy the yoga session.
This is where I decided to become a Yoga Teacher and begin my yoga teaching journey in year 2004 to help more people to gain good health and release their daily stress especially in our stressful modern life nowadays.

Cheap Yoga Classes
However, there are some people might be concern about the cost which become a limitation to them to have more yoga sessions in a week.
The membership fee of a Yoga Centre is not cheap at all due to their high overhead. You are not only paying for the yoga lesson but you are also paying for the facilities it provided. Joining the yoga course in a Community centre or club in Singapore is the cheapest as compare with the Yoga Centre or Studio.
However you can only attend the yoga session on a weekly basis on a fix day and time. Unless you sign up for a few courses then you can have a few yoga sessions in a week on a fix day and time. Even for Yoga Centre or Studio, you still have to follow their time table for their class schedule although they have more yoga sessions throughout the day.
Unlike online yoga video class which has the flexibility of timing. You can decide your own timing when you want to have your yoga session and also the length of the session.
If you are concern about the cost, online yoga video class is the cheapest follow by the classes at Community Centre or Club in Singapore and then next is the Yoga Centre or Studio. Online yoga class also help to save your travel time and transport cost to class.
Advantages Of Online Classes
Your home become your personal yoga studio. Below is a list of advantages of Online Yoga Video Class.
1. It’s much cheaper
2. It’s faster as save on travelling
3. It’s flexible in timing & type of class
4. It’s travel-friendly as can do yoga while you are travelling oversea
5. It gives you access to amazing teachers
6. It’s less intimidating
How To Motivate Yourself To Workout
Whether you are doing your yoga session at home by online yoga video or private one to one session with a private yoga teacher if you can afford, or doing yoga classes at a Community Centre or Club, or a Yoga Centre or Studio, as long as you feel comfortable with it and enjoying the effect and benefits after the class, there is no excuse or reason for not be able to attend yoga class.
If you are a person that need motivation to do yoga, pay for the class and don’t go for FREE class. This is human nature that they tend to get lazy and stuck at their comfort zone. If you paid for a class, no matter how you will try to make an effort to attend the class.
If not, you will always have an excuse and reason for not be able to attend class. This is the best solution and don’t get stuck in your limitation as your laziness is your comfort zone and also your limitation to get you to become a better person with better health. Depend how strong motivation you need. The more you pay for it the more motivation you will have.
May yoga be always with you to bring you a balance body and mind and a healthy life. Be happy, be peaceful, be healthy.
Namaste

Hi Janet,
I’m practicing the basic and straightforward yoga by myself as I watch a video on a youtube channel.
I have never known that there are so many health benefits of yoga if you practice correctly and regularly.
Thank you so much for sharing this post; from now on, I will severely practice yoga.
Best regards,
Lyn
Janet
Hi Lyn. Thank you for your sharing. In fact, if you can go for the 45min to 1hr full session will be even better as you can really feel the effect of it if you do it correctly.
Unless you have a very busy lifestyle which you can’t come out a 45min to 1hr time to practice, then at least do some short session here and there is better than nothing.
But I still encourage try to come out at least once a week to practice a full session yoga. Enjoy your practice..:-)

Janet,
I’ve been off and on with yoga for many years.
I first got into yoga from ju-Jitsu when I was much younger.
At the time I was really only concerned with becoming more flexible and didn’t grasp/wasn’t interested in the other benefits.
Now that I’m older, don’t compete anymore (matured 😊) I’m trying to slow down my fitness training and establish more stress relief, yoga, meditation days.
It’s only been a couple of months since I’ve tried to learn how to meditate and go through different poses and I’m starting to see positive results.
Just the positivity in my thought process and awareness so far has been the most noticeable difference.
Just thought I would share.
Janet
Hi Lee. I really appreciate your sharing of thought and experience which might help to inspire those who are hesitated to start to learn yoga or meditation. Glad to hear that you start to see positive results from your practice. Keep it up!…:-)

Leslie
Your tip on how to be motivated really hit me. I have been paying a monthly membership to a gym for $10/month. Since the fee was low, I was not really thinking of making the most out of it. I have been paying this fee for almost two years now and I think I have only been there at most 10 times. It is time to really be motivated for my health. Thank you for your article. My gym has yoga classes and I will try it out.
Janet
Hi Leslie. Thank you for sharing your experience. Yes, we have to learn to find way to motivate ourselves in order to keep healthy. Don’t let the body in control of our mind. We have to be in control of our body by thinking ways to prevent the body from finding excuse to go back to it comfort zone and old habits.
By paying fee instead of go for free lesson is one of the tip for self motivation. And usually those paid class the quality are better and have wider range and choice therefore more interesting which is also another way of self motivation. Just try whatever ways that work for you..:-)

However, I follow a beginner’s class on You Tube and since that is the constant variable in my life – it has really served its purpose well. I hope that you create your own channel and that I will be able to follow you on youtube soon.
