A Happy Lunar New Year 2020

Hi everyone!  Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Lunar New Year 2020!  May this year of the Rat bring you more prosperity, joy. success and happiness in life.  The very most important is Good Health because by having a good health then you can enjoy more prosperity and joy.


Mind And Body Connected

Good health not restricted to physical only but mentally too!  Our mind and body connected.  When our mind is in a relaxation state, our body will follow and feel relax.  So by keeping our mind in a healthy state will automatic help to keep our body in a healthy state.

How to keep your mind healthy?  Everything starts with a thought.  How we think is how we feel.  Our thought will lead to action.  Therefore, if your thought is positive, it will lead to positive action.  If you think you can do it, an energy force will push you to do it.  If you think that you cannot do it, you will not have the courage to act and start.  Therefore, it is all in the mind.  And you have the choice to choose.


Listen To Your Body

We have to learn to listen to our body.  When our body is feeling any pain, aching or tense, it is actually trying to communicate with us.  So we have the choice to choose to ignore it or take action on it.  Whatever choice we choose, we have to be responsible to it ourselves.  It is the same meaning we have to be responsible for our own action.

To relax the body, we have to relax our mind first.  There is time for work and there is time to relax.  We have to find a balance there.  Over work or rest, will not benefits the body and health.  So learning to find a balance in life!

Happiness In The Mind

The mind is so powerful.  It can decide we want to be happy or unhappy.  So the choice is yours!  Someone might have make you feel angry.  But you have the choice to let this person in control of how you should feel by feeling angry or you can choose to be in control of your own feeling by choosing to be in peace and not being affected by this person.

Some of you might ask how to do it?  Learn to let go of your identity.  Most of the time we are feeling stress because we are holding on to our identity and this will cause lot of unhappiness in ourselves.

If we break down ourselves, we are no different from the air and space and earth and everything around us.  Therefore, don’t get attach to our identity will lead to happiness.

Yoga for Healing


The Myth

2020 is the Year of the Rat according to Chinese zodiac.  Most people are already aware that there are 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac calendar: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. The Rat is the first of all zodiac animals.

According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. The Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride. Then, just as they arrived at the finish line, Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox, becoming first!

In Chinese culture, rats were seen as a sign of wealth and surplus. Because of their reproduction rate, married couples also prayed to them for children.

If you have notice it, my blog header is a picture of a Lucky Cat with two rats.  These two rats is specially made by my colleague’s sister using the red packet papers for this Lunar New Year of the Rat.

question in mind and ask can Cat and Rat be together?  Wouldn’t the Cat eat the Rat?

I think it differently with a fun answer to the fun question.  Cat and Rat can be peacefully together.  They can choose to let go of their identity as a Cat or Rat but see each other as the same kind instead!  Or the Cat can choose to become a vegetarian and not eating the rats!  lol.



It is a fesitive period and is the time for fun, rest and relax.  Making use of these period to re-charge yourself to prepare yourself to continue with the challenge of life to come.

Life basically is a learning journey.  Therefore, there is always challenge in life for us to learn something.  You will notice the same kind of challenge will keep come back to us until we learn the lesson from it before we can move on to the next new challenge in life.

We have the choice to think positivity or negativity.  Life will be easier if we choose to think positivity.  Thank you for everyone here who have been part of my life journey.

Remember to take care of your health too by not being over eat during this fesitive period although it is a time to enjoy. Take care everyone and Happy Lunar Happy New Year to everyone again!

    I really enjoyed my time on your website today, you know I think if everyone got started using meditation and yoga since children we would be less anxious and stressed out as adults. Maybe the schools should start providing yoga classes and meditation classes in place of gym classes, I really think they would benefit everyone all over the world if this was a class in our schools today.

    Hi, I loved this post- particularly the analogy about the cat and the rat learning to live together peacefully.

    You’re so right that we’re in control of how we choose to feel. I definitely find it hard to let go of my identity so that’s definitely something i’ll be working on. I’ve been working on not dwelling on things and staying present so this ties in really nicely with this, and I will definitely be taking on your suggestions in terms on learning to become more emotionally resilient, and let things that bother me go.       Hi Natalie. You are most welcome..:-) I have to keep reminding myself too to live in the present in the moment. Even thing that happen one second ago is still consider a past. But most of the time we are still holding on to it because we couldn’t let go of our identity. We are all learning together..:-) That’s the purpose of life.
